Image optimizer
Compress images in batch — without losing what matters
Drop many photos, pick output format and max size, tune quality and see savings before you download — all in your browser inside AZTools.
Free, no credit card · Processing runs in your browser — files stay local until you download

Why Image optimizer on AZTools
Shrink a folder of product shots or blog images with one setup — beside your other tools, not a random compressor site per batch.
Many files at once
Queue a whole folder — one format, size cap and quality for every image.
Smart compression
Keeps the original when the optimized file would be larger.
See the savings
Per-image badges and a batch summary show bytes saved.
Download in one go
Optimize all and grab a ZIP of every file.
A queue for bulk compression
Add many images from drag-and-drop or the file picker. Browse thumbnails, remove individual files or clear the queue. Select an image to preview the output dimensions and format your current settings would produce.
- Multi-select upload for common image types
- Original size and output dimensions per image
- Per-image status: ready, processing, done or error

Original, JPEG, WebP or PNG
Keep each file’s native format, or convert the batch to JPEG, WebP or PNG. Hints explain when lossless PNG skips the quality slider and when WebP is the smallest choice.
- Original — preserve source format when possible
- JPEG and WebP with quality control
- PNG for lossless output

Optional max dimension cap
Limit the longest edge before compression — off by default, or pick presets like 1280, 1920 or 2560 px. Smaller dimensions mean smaller files without opening a separate resize tool.
- Off — compress at full resolution
- One-click presets for common web sizes
- Custom px up to 10,000 on the longest side

Quality you control
Slide output quality from 50% to 100% for lossy formats. The optimizer targets a sensible file size per pixel and steps down quality if needed — but never replaces your file when the result would be bigger.
- Quality slider for JPEG and WebP
- Automatic target size per resolution
- Keeps original when compression would not help

Results, savings and ZIP download
Run optimize on the whole queue, review a results grid with before → after sizes and download individually or as a single ZIP archive.
- Batch summary of total bytes saved
- Per-image savings badge in the queue
- Download all as ZIP via JSZip

REST API for defaults
Read and update saved optimize preferences programmatically — output format, quality and max dimension — for workflows that should open the tool pre-configured.
- getAppState and savePreferences endpoints
- Persist format, quality and dimension defaults
- Optimization execution stays client-side in the app UI
